NZFW Trend-aay: #See-through

Cybele and Company of Strangers

Watch out lace - there's a new see-through slut in town! She goes by the name of fishnet and has made appearances in collections from Company of Strangers, Cybele and Riddle Me This. And trust me, it won't stop there.

This look works particularly well with a baggy sleeve. So edgy and athletic! Speaking of which, my body is still hungover from Winter so I think a few block runs are in order before my wee belly even attempts to pull off something as revealing as this.

Riddle Me This
Zambesi and Cybele
But for those of you twigs out there, why stop at a peek of skin when you can bare all? Yes, the Zambesi model on the left looks as though she ran out on her hairdresser just to make the show but I love it. The transparent belt is by Cybele. Such amazing pieces! Now is the time to dig out those jelly shoes and consider a simple high gloss lip! Transparency is the hot new trend!

Patrick Park poster is complete!

The beautiful and fabulous Josh Hamilton is seen here holding my final design that was handed in to my Graphic Design lecturer this afternoon. Thanks Josh - you look gawj! I had to get him to cover half his face because I couldn't have such beauty competing with my design.

After struggling with my choice of typefaces and general composition, I've finally settled on a design that I think evokes the happy-sad reminiscing feeling I set out to convey from the beginning. Patrick Park's music can be enjoyed by most people but I've tried to target an early 20's market by contrasting the aged elements with bold lettering and an injection of colour.

Azealia Banks "1991" Video

The 90s called - they want their style back! But they can't have it. Azealia tweeted to say the video references Madonna, Crystal Waters and Aaliyah.

The dancing is cute, but she's not the best at "wacking". What she is good at, is making me drool over that suit get up. Love the tail and the high waist pant. Girls - get familiar! This is hot!

P.S. Attention major fans - it's been announced... her next single release will be Esta Noche! I died.

Objective Drawing: Term 3 Brief

I wanted to draw an object that I often take for granted and I chose to convey this idea through my use of materiality. The transparency and fragility of the baking paper surface helps to soften the can openers sharp lines and form, thus making it easily unnoticed like when you open the kitchen drawer and you're like AHH WHERE IS IT? and there it is right in front of you.

My concept was reinforced this morning when we had critique and people seemed to just wander by my work and onto the next!

The Adidas Originals national showdown!

As the clock ticked passed 7pm and the realisation that I'd been capturing arrivals for an hour sunk in, I was hoping for a few fashionably late celebrities to appear and star strike me into forgetting about the growing pains in my legs and back. I got Dan Carter, David Dallas, Keisha Castle-Hughes and even the Nek Minit guy; but the real stars of the night were the Chain Gang Kids. Lovin' the facial hurr!

The Auckland-based fixed gear bike crew was crowned best crew in the country and walked away with $5000 worth of adidas gear. CGK will become the face of the adidas Originals New Zealand advertising campaign in 2013. Their performance will go live on the global campaign social platforms, up against other international entries and alongside iconic artists including Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg Lion.

The Veronicas "Lolita"

Oh how I've missed their whiney, signature sound! They're still as hot as ever but part of me wishes they still rocked the she-mullet.
