NZFW Top 5 WTF's

Taylor, Les Mills, Coop, Phoenix and Servilles

New Zealand Fashion's Weakest (l-r):

1. The Ring drawings get printed
Scarier than the horror movie itself, this printed dress by Taylor would be better suited to the racks of K&K than on the runway.

2. Paying homage to the ghetto
Did they actually get a show or are the cast of Step Up 5 doing a promotional tour? The trucker hat and hoochi hoops belongs on the streets. Of Brooklyn. 2002.

3. Those shoes don't look familiar
Oh Trelise! Two years on from the official debut of this Prada platform and it's so recognised now, you could probably find a pair at Number 1 Shoes!

4. Really quite high fashion
You know you're verging on a wedgie when your hip bones come into view. I also don't like the gathering of spikes in the vaginal vicinity, possibly mirroring what to expect underneath?

5. Let's get physical, physical
Inspired by my cats scratch post? I can't even decide what's working less - the fact they're leg warmers or the awful fabric choices.

A special mention for Kagi who came in at a close 6th place.

Azealia & Gaga collaboration!

At the risk of sounding completely queer I'll refrain from eee-ing but hot damn, this is good news! It's not confirmed if the track will make it onto Gaga's upcoming record but I can settle with a leak!We can't be teased with news liked this only to never hear the song.

Imagine how fash-on and sexxxual the video would be. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of Azealia's transition into shitty, mainstream pop music though.

Stressing less; two weeks off uni y'all!

Hallelujah! Time for a drank!

Jason Richards, 2012. "Yes, but".

Upon layering contradictions, emerges an awkward, edgy awareness. Aside from the obvious opposing elements of natural versus man-made, my process and installation too became a contradiction.

This assignment was quite loose and focused on what we respond to as artists and designers. This was great because by the final week, there was such a variation in the works that were displayed. These are my favourites from the class.

Ohh HALLE NAH, Rihanna!

Who cares if Rihanna and Chris Brown kissed at the MTV Video Music Awards!

I want answers as to why she looks like Halle Berry with a white penis. The dress is berry unflattering and keeping up with the constant reinvention of her hair is getting bloody tiring.

NZFW Trend-aay: #HelloYellow

Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow.

Andrea Moore, Dmonic Intent and Salasai
Lemon's popular neon sister, that's spread like the plague, is finally about to get sidelined in favour of this warmer, softer tone of yellow. Think yoghurt and play dough!

There has been no shortage of yellow on the runway with almost every collection incorporating a dash here and there but my favourite look has to be Zambesi's checkers on checkers look. With the windswept 'do, I am convinced she's been playing Quidditch.

Why I hate my Typography class

A simple enough graphic wouldn't you agree? Well, the stupid brief wouldn't allow digital designs and actually stated that the final work needed to be a photocopy so after much cutting, collating, pasting and paying for printing (do you appreciate my alliteration?), I ended up handing in this...

F is for "forbidden", and also fucking hideous. An exploration of the word forbidden and it's relationship to censorship.
