God help Just Jeans and its commercials

This is the most embarrassing thing I've seen in a while. More embarrassing than that time I won the Nigerian lottery... yeah, God help Vodafone and its commercials too.

The girls don't even have asses.

Manuscript "Gothlete"

It makes so much sense to nickname the current goth + athletic trend "Gothlete". The word itself just looks sexy, don't you think? I can't believe I didn't think of it before.

The looks I've seen about in the real world tend to end up looking well thrift-shopped, under-dressed and dirty. I see socks and jandals, so yes, I'm going to think you've come straight from South Auckland. It's a difficult task breaking in the socks and jandals when they've been rocking them for years. I think this spread in Manuscript magazine is the perfect example of how to cleanly pull off the style. Mesh, stripes and adidas referencing the sporty side and balanced by the black on black, leggings and structured "gothic" pieces.

The hibiscus lava lava is fucking fantastic, but not in New Zealand.

Carly Rae Jepsen "This Kiss"

I was born in the 1980s - alright, 1989, in September, but anyway! - it goes without saying, I love this song and the video! I'm sure most of us thought Carly Rae would disappear after "Call Me Maybe" but if you give her album a proper listen, you will honestly have trouble finding a favourite. They're all great and infectiously catchy. Before you know it, you'll be having pillow fights and talking about cute boys!

Seriously, every time I see a video with a chick and a mic... all I see is... Kelly Clarkson.

And this isn't even all of her videos...

Hung and bored

I knew I shouldn't have gone out last night (and got myself kicked out of a club! Eep!) because now I can't focus with my school work. I whipped this little photoshop design up but I really have no idea what I'm trying to say in it. I think I just wanted to play.

Anyway, back to it...

ASOS Holiday 2012

I don't enjoy large scale painting

I thought I'd show you where I'm up to with my largest work this term. There are certain restrictions within the brief as to what we have to include but otherwise we're free to do whatever we want. There has been a real focus on being self-directed this last part of the year.

Yet again, I've taken the abstraction route and you may recognise the colour scheme from my self portrait. I did attempt to create more of a realistic, painterly representation but I just can't do it. I've been working upside down to focus on shape and form more but it appears the kind sir might have lost a bit of weight in mine. It's about 65% complete.

Check out my cute little classmates getting to work on theirs. We're all determined for no late nights at uni. Nuh-uh!
