Nicki Minaj "Starships" Video

When it comes to making her "best video yet", Nicki Minaj shocks us with something we've never seen before. Pink and green and booty. Sadly for some, booty gets more close ups than her beautiful smile, which is so nice to see lasting longer than a millisecond and without a frown following. But the PUKANA BLEHH facials make up for that.

It's fun and she's definately [begin Starships tune here] on the floor, floor, she loves to dance. I just wanted more, more. Can you understand?

I need some Karen Walker's

I am dying for those square sunnies from Karen Walker's "Little Aliens" collection! I am tempted by the neon frames too, if I couldn't already imagine how stupid I would look wearing them.

The State Insurance Ad

They got rid of Vasa's Teuila Blakely's smoky voiceover and replaced it with something even more annoying; their own version of the 80s hit "Break My Stride". The production is good but there are just a few things that really bug me.

1. The mustache guys frowny, chest-inflated, wide-armed macho walk
2. And the fitness girl beside him that is out of sync with her steps! You don't have any lines, you could have got your walk down, girl.
3. Is the TV chasing guy Asian or Maori? Because I hear an accent, but then he's holding a jandal.

"Magic Mike" Teaser

Waiting for the release of this movie has so far felt like the longest foreplay of my life. And still - they continue to tease and taunt us with these heavenly bodies! June 29th is just too far away. 71 days to exact.

What are we going to do till then? Play this teaser on repeat.

It's raining saliva!

Why do people spit in public places? I can understand going for a run and hoiking a load into the bush or playing Jack and Rose on the Titanic, or even aiming straight into someone's face after you catch them out with your man, but why all over the footpath?

It was like watching paint dry today at the bus stop. Yes, as always, long and boring, but I actually watched the puddles of saliva lose their bubbles and dry out. The difference with paint is I'm not concerned about bacteria evaporating into the air and going straight into my mouth.

Excess saliva is good for breaking down bacteria in your mouth so you should think twice before you spit it out!

Gwen Stefani at "My Valentine" Premiere

I'm experiencing a strange feeling and I can't tell if it's the straight guy in me coming out *wink* or just my usual gay self wishing I was this 42 year old MILF!

Gwen Stefani showed up to the premiere of Paul McCartney's "My Valentine" music video looking jaw-droppingly chic in a sheer paneled jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. I love the plait that feeds into the messy bun.

AnOther Man "West of my Future"

Tommy Kristiansen features in the Spring/Summer issue of AnOther Man magazine, photographed by Jack Pierson and styled by Bryan McMahon.

The presence of colourful prints looks great especially with rhinestone embellished Prada shirts layered over others. Three popped collars doesn't actually look half bad.

Tic Tac Prank

Pure gold! So dramatic! I love it. They should consider using this as a TV ad. Better than this...

Katy Perry has dyed

... her hair, yet again! And just as she was starting to really work the blue.

It ain't so bad but the big reveal for her sixth change in the last year shouldn't have been done so casually at the Coachella festival. With a leather jacket, holey dress, cigarette in hand and a permanent blank expression, I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't Kristen Stewart.

On the bright side, she's done away with the mumsy bob and thankfully didn't get any ideas from her dykey 'do in "Part Of Me". What I'd like to see her with is a washed out, dark green.

Diet Coke & Jean Paul Gaultier

As the new creative director of Diet Coke, Jean Paul Gaultier has created three bottle designs for a limited edition collection entitled "Day & Night" only available in Europe.

I remember when I first lay eyes on a glass coke bottle. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. But this is on a whole other level of cool. It's like a fashion accessory. Even when it's empty you'll still be holding it and taking fake sips like you do when you can't afford another drink at the bar.

I'm Aucklands Style Scout for Seek!

I was fortunate enough to be offered a job working on behalf of Seek.co.nz as a Style Scout for their blog The Seek Insider. I get to photograph the five Best Dressed people on their way to work every second Wednesday. The winner, as decided by the big bosses, appears on the website.

This weeks winner was Juliet. She stood out amongst the sea of black on Queen Street. I was so happily surprised when she told me she was a lawyer.

With blogs like FOUREYES and Wallace Chapman's already dominating the street fashion photography world, I think it was a wise move for Seek to skew their segment at an older, more corporate audience. It proves a challenge finding people whose personality transcends into their everyday 9-5 work wear and don't work in retail!

Amanda Bynes DUI Charge

Awww, she's embarrassed. And so she should be.

Not from being arrested but because this is the first time I've seen her face since playing a supporting role to Emma Stone in Easy A. Who are you Amanda Bynes?! Where is that dorky, lank of a boy we know and love?! This is just the Lohan scandal the C grade actress needs.

Converse "Warrior"

Kimbra, A-Trak and Mark Foster have come together on this track for the release of Converse's new collection of coloured Chuck Taylors. (My favourite's the green - are you surprised?)

The combination of smooth vocals, synths and signature Foster the People echo is magic. The best collaboration I've heard in a while. The track can be downloaded for free from here.

Nicki Minaj "Beez in the Trap" Video

The green hair has been done. The side-view squat pose has been done. And for crying out loud, the ghetto club scene with confetti and slow-mo booty poppin' has been done.

I'm embarrassed. Why is Nicki wasting her time with these silly promotional video releases? There's no point in releasing so many if they're all going to look the same. Plus - just let us enjoy one single at a time. This is all too reminiscent of Beyonce's album Bday.

Moved house!

If it's not uni distracting me from my blog, it's always something else.

I've just moved to the new Tawari Mews complex in Mount Eden and it's amazing. It's so new, it's like when you buy a new phone and you're scared to peel off the clear sticker on the screen.

I'm on a two week break (thank god after the stress of assignments week just gone) so as soon as I get the internet set up in the new place things will be back to normal.

Ricki-Lee "Do It Like That" Video

Ricki-Lee channels a lot of Sasha Fierceness in her latest pop video"Do It Like That". It's hard not to make the connection with the posse of colourful girls, slutty brick wall dancing and double-slitted maxi dress. She just forgot one thing. Good dancing. Hers look more like something out of Vanessa Hudgens "Sneakernight".

Track AKA's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded"

Nicki Minaj dropped her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded two days ago. It seems her trash-talkin' alter ego Roman admits defeat as early as the seventh track leaving the album to be overrun by Barbie and our not-so-fave singing Nicki.

Regular reviews are boring. What I really want when I look at a track title is a rating and a wee "also known as" to sum things up and help me decide whether it's worth even a youtube search let alone a purchase. As blunt as some of my critiques may be, I do like the album, it's addictive as I expected and I rate it 4.5/5.

Roman Holiday
also known as the I-was-enjoying-the-nanny's-voice-until-suddenly-"O Come All Ye Faithful" track.

Come On A Cone
also known as the excitedly schizophrenic showoffy Roman infused track.

I Am Your Leader (Feat. Cam’ron & Rick Ross)
also known as the Neptunes-esque track with killer guest verses.

Bruce Weber "Other sports require one ball."

On this day I am thankful for two things. The creation of man and the invention of the shower.

GQ Style Germany "Zur Grenze"

Model Reid Prebenda wears new season Calvin Klein in the Spring/Summer issue of GQ Style Germany. Shot by David Slijper and styled by Grant Woolhead.

I've combined my two favourite pictures from the shoot in the above graphic. I love the yellow, the shoes and the slicked back hair. Simple and sleek!

Stupid Lyric Videos

What is up with this current trend? I thought the teasers were bad but these look like cheesy American Idol promos or headings straight off a teen magazine cover. "569 reasons he's NOT Mr. Right for you!"

The cheap fonts and effects ruin any credibility the songs have. If we didn't notice the shitty, unoriginal lyrics before, well thank you - our attention has now been brought to them.

Do kids like Azealia Banks?

Yesterday I posted about Azealia Banks and today I stumbled upon this wee video of kids listening to her song "212". So adorable! "If I was friends with Azealia Banks, I would help her practice. If I helped her practice she would be even more perfect."

I also read that she's got upcoming tracks with Kanye West and Lana Del Rey so remember the name!

The Opening of Marquee Nightclub

The turnout at the opening of Marquee in Sydney last Friday caught organisers off guard and they turned a supposed 250 invited guests away after they waited in a two hour long queue. There were a number of celebs I would have turned away if they stepped one tiny toe inside my club looking the way they did, but a couple weren't so shab.

Isabel Lucas is my number one hell-of-a-looker in this peachy cut-out! I love the length of the dress and the way the light hits it. What I don't like is that hair. It's as though she had it up in a ponytail and only took it out for the cameras.

Oh Martha, how I miss seeing your beautiful face on Home & Away! Normally I hate feathers and I hate beige and I hate ankle boots but with a tan like that, how can I say no? Jodi Gordon looks amazing!

Ashlee Simpson found her dress at the bottom of a sewage pond next to all of her albums. It may in fact be some sort of reptilian print but at the end of the day it's still brown and 99% of the time brown is a big no no. That 1% belongs to Victoria Beckham's FW12 collection.

Justin Bieber "Boyfriend" Teaser

He's seducing me with his lesbian bedroom eyes and I think I kind of like it! Now that he's all (most) fully grown, and the days of the Bieber swish are dead and gone, it seems like he's not so much the bud of every joke anymore.

But will he be able to survive this bridging stage and keep his screaming fan base? Or has One Direction completely stolen them all? Jesse McCartney and Aaron Carter are two examples of failures of the teen-heartthrob-to-mature-and-sexy-male transition.

I like this song but he can call me when he gets some facial hair because I still can't take those squinty up and down stares seriously.

Azealia Banks "212"

With a weave Pippy Lockstockings would envy and rapping skills that put her in Nicki's league, Azealia Banks has so much swag I almost can't handle it. It's like her swag is boiling away in a pot, nearly overflowing, and it's so hot I can't even touch the handle! This girl is oven-mit hot.

Although "212" is not a new song, I haven't heard it on the radio before so it is new to me. My boyfriend introduced me to it and I am obsessed. Her other tracks are worth a listen too. She features on a song with Scissor Sisters and another with Major Lazer.
